Q
I think I should replace the oxygen sensors. I would like to know where they are located, and how many are there are on my 02′ 745 LI.
A
The oxygen sensors on your 2002 745Li have a recommended replacement interval of 100,000 miles. There are four oxygen sensors, in total. There is one sensor before the catalytic converter and one behind the converter, on each side of the V8 engine (right and left). The sensors are replaced from under the car. The catalytic converters are a part of the exhaust manifolds, so the front sensors are just behind where all of the separate pipes come into one just before it enters the converter (on each side). The rear sensors are just behind the converters.
