Hi. I also have a 2003 325i with a problematic oil pressure sensor (my oil pressure warning light blinks erratically when idling and stops when I give it gas). My question is, did you have to remove the intake manifold to get to the sensor or were you able to replace it without much hassle? According to the procedures in the Bentley manual it appears many pieces have to come off to get to the sensor.

    Thanks in advance,
    Lenny

    • The Bentley repair manual for the E46 3-series chassis, on page 119-18, does note that intake manifold removal may be required on some models, However, from our experience you should be able to access the sensor, which is located on the rear of the oil filter mount/housing, by moving the power steering fluid reservoir aside (just remove the mounting bracket bolt(s)) and removing the air filter box.
